Thank you for visiting our website and for your interest in Rams Hockey!
Rams Hockey is proud to offer developmental and competitive youth programs at almost every level. Regardless of where you are in your hockey career, Rams Hockey will be a great partner to help give you the skill sets to reach your goals.
Try Hockey for Free: The Rams Hockey Association hosts three to four Try Hockey for Free events each season. This event is geared toward kids ages 4 to 8 and its goal is to introduce a new group of kids to the wonderful sport of hockey. Each event is held at the Cedar Rock Sports Plex and is completely free to participants. All required gear is provided at the rink or kids can bring their own gear if they have it. We provide an online registration format through USA Hockey for participants, and we are also set up to register kids on the day of the event.
Learn to Skate: The Rams Hockey Association typically offers four 6-week Learn to Skate sessions during the season. The sessions were geared toward kids who were 4 to 9 years old and are new to ice skating. Each session offers one hour of on-ice instruction per week. Our coaches work with the participants to teach them the basics of skating and prepare them to transition into Learn to Play.
Learn to Play: The Rams Hockey Association typically offers four 6-week Learn to Play sessions during the season. The sessions were geared toward kids who were 4 to 9 years old and are new to ice hockey. Full Equipment is needed for this program and if needed, the Rams Hockey Association has a limited amount of gear available for participants to borrow. Each session offers one hour of on-ice instruction per week. Our coaches worked with the participants to teach them the basics of hockey and prepare them to transition into the Mites program.
Mites (6U & 8U): The Rams Hockey Association’s Mite (6U & 8U) program is run by multiple assistants and one head coach. Full Equipment is needed for this program and if needed, the Rams Hockey Association has a limited amount of gear for participants to borrow. Participants continue to build on skills introduced in Learn to Play and begin competing as a team in small area games. The head coach has put together coaching binders with structured drills and plans for all the coaches. All information and practice plans were provided by USA Hockey and use the ADM model.
House Hockey: House hockey teams compete in the Adray League and no tryout is required. Teams are formed based on participants' ages. Practices take place during the week with home and away games on the weekends.
